Coombes Sixth Form

Rag Week Revels

Our annual RAISE AND GIVE week

Coombe Sixth Form was a hive of  excitement as RAG Week 2016 launched on 1st March.    Raring to go and with  a fun-filled  itinerary of daily activities, students across both Clarence Avenue and College Gardens campuses devoted their efforts to the charity fundraiser raising an incredible £2000.

rag football match

Year 12 versus Year 13

The week’s activities kicked off with a charity football match, followed by a sale of delicious cakes and doughnuts.  Our enterprising groups manned their stalls during the busy RAG Fair and worked hard to drum up sales. New to the line up this year, the Coombe lip sync contest launched on Thursday and proved to be hugely popular amongst students who delivered fantastic musical renditions on stage.

rag dress up days

Coombe to school dressed as a celebrity, animal, cartoon character or super hero

Daily dress-up themes ran throughout the week inviting students to dress as characters from the world of  TV & Film,  as historical figures, literacy characters and British culture providing much frivolity!

rag fashion show

All collections were created by Sixth Form students as part of their Textiles course.

Finally, attentions turned to the catwalk as students showcased latest fashion collections during the Coombe fashion show which provided the perfect close to the week’s events.

Very well done to all students for your hard work and for making RAG week 2016 so successful.
