"I'm studying A levels in French, Spanish and History, and I hope to continue with languages at University. In the future I hope to become involved in global politics surrounding animal welfare and environmental issues. Coombe is a wonderful school and I've thoroughly enjoyed my seven years here. I've achieved great academic results and have had so much fun in numerous clubs, competitions and plays."

Head of Department: Ms J Rudenko

'There is a Ukrainian proverb that says ‘Language is the soul of a nation’, meaning that if you wish to understand a different culture and a different way of thinking then you need to be able to speak another language. Studying Languages at A Level gives you the opportunity to broaden your horizons and understanding of the world, which in today’s international society is more important than ever. As A Level Languages incorporate many different disciplines they also help you develop numerous skills and complement a wide range of other subjects, which is why Language graduates are the third most employable after university.'
