Year 12 student
"I study Geography, Biology, Chemistry and Maths with statistics. The choice of subjects suits me well as I prefer the physical and scientific side of Geography. I am hoping to study Physical Geography at University with the aim of becoming a meteorologist. The fieldwork element to the course was brilliant and we spent a very enjoyable week studying the geomorphology of the Devon coastline. Next year there are plans for a trip to Iceland."
Head of Department: Ms C Darney
The Year 12 groups spend 4 days in Slapton Field Studies Centre (F.S.C), Devon studying core elements of the course, practising data handing, statistical tests and data representation. We see at first hand a wide range of rural environments, follow the River Harbourne from source to mouth and investigate coastal environments at different locations. Students cover a large element of the syllabus in the welcoming atmosphere of the FSC.
We have healthy numbers for this popular subject and mixed groups of students from a variety of local schools.
Please see more information about this subject and slides on biology transition work below.
