To gain A level Language and Literature, students will study six texts in depth. Two of the texts will enable the completion of two creative coursework pieces. The other four will familiarise students with a range of literary and linguistic genres in order to answer written tasks.

Students will analyse how written texts are constructed to suit particular ends, audiences and contexts; in doing so they’ll gain skills which allow them to prepare their own sophisticated texts for both academic and vocational purposes.

Year 12 student

"I am studying Business Studies, History, Philosophy and Ethics and English Literature and Language at A level. I hope to go to Brunel University to complete a BA in Modern History. I stayed at Coombe Sixth Form as I know the teachers are always supportive with help and advice. My ultimate ambition for the future is for a career in Journalism."
