Head Student elections take place at the start of the Summer Term. Anyone in Year 12 can apply.
There are four Head Student positions and the election campaign usually takes place at the start of the Summer Term. The campaign includes filming a manifesto which goes out to all students and staff accross Coombe Boys' School, Coombe Girls' School and Coombe Sixth Form who then vote for their preferred candidates.
Our Head Students take on an ambassadorial role, representing the school in many ways, including for example assisting and speaking at events such as open evenings or the Carols by Candlelight service, greeting visitors and guests, assisting staff where needed, and acting as role models for younger members of the Coombe community. They also represent the student body and put forward ideas and suggestions to the wider leadership teams.
Students are invited to stand as Subject Captains to represent their courses.
Subject Captains represent their subjects at open events such as Sixth Form Opportunities Evening for Year 10 students, and they work with members of the lower school.
